CFI's Driven Pile Academy: Hosted by the PDCA

Suppressor Assembly  The vibratory hammer suppressor is outfitted with rubber elastomers that help suppress the vibration generated from the gear box and reduce vibration up through the crane line.  Along with suppressing vibration to the crane line, the suppressor is an integral part of driving and extracting the pile. The shear weight of the suppressor adds a downward force to the vibrating mass system assisting in driving the pile.  Additional bias weight can be added on top of a hammer to increase the downward force to assist during tough driving conditions.
